Wow! That’s scary - So, the Commish had that Cpl. removed from his duties? Unreal - is this Canada we’re living in and not North Korea?

So not only is the RCMP understaffed, they’re experiencing a “brain drain” of knowledgeable and experienced police officers who are electing to retire or move on to municipal / provincial police services.

The RCMP sounds like it’s on very shakey ground to me.

What the heck, removed from his duties, is this a management threat against voicing your opinion?

I think the media is picking this up real fast and we have weathered a lot of storms in the past. I forsee a perfect storm coming. I also see 26000 men and women manning the oars on one boat and a civilian Commisioner in a row boat, with both boats trying to make land fall.

In our Mission, Vision, and Values statement management of the RCMP commit to their employees that they will encourages open and honest bilateral communication.
A Corporal at Depot Division does just that and is subsequently removed from his position.
What kind of message does that send to someone thinking of the RCMP? Is this action not part of our recruiting and retention problem?

If we want people to join, or better yet stay in the organization these type of tactics cannot be tolerated!
I will be most interested to see what our elected representatives will do about this, if anything.

We must stand by and support those who keep us safe.
